Introducing MUDr. Tatiana Mahmood, Doctor at the EUC PLS Hvězdova Clinic

Since 2009, I have been working for a company that, since its establishment, has gradually become a company with a successfully operating occupational medical services system. I have found fulfilment in my life at work because meaningful work is what pushes us forward.  My life’s credo is “For me, fairness is above all a manifestation of humanity”.

I joined EUC PLS after working at the largest dialysis centre at University Hospital Motol and for 19 years at the National Institute of Public Health in Prague, in the noise group at the department of general and community hygiene. In this position, I participated in the handling of major grant projects of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (IGA MZ ČR IZ 1867, IGA MZ ČR IZ 2469, ISSN1210 9676) involving the impact of noise on the natural and work environments. My most important works in this field include “The Impact of Noise and Vibration on the Health Condition of Premature Babies”, preparation of noise monitoring throughout the Czech Republic, preparation and management of public health offices in relation to the noise monitoring system, and evaluation of noise pollution in selected locations.

While at EUC PLS, I began focusing on the client Prague Airport and a new world was opened up to me in the form of a large enterprise with more than 5,000 employees, a large number of positions, noise risk in categories 3 and 4, dust and chemical agents in categories 3 and 4, local muscular stress in category 3 and physical stress in category 3. The number and variability of positions at the airport were very interesting, including airport traffic controllers, professional drivers of vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes, bus drivers, aircraft-fuel tanker drivers, field maintenance, electricians, airport security staff, security inspectors, cybersecurity specialists, ecologists and the large airport fire department.

I currently work at the EUC PLS Hvězdova clinic, where my job involves performing all type of occupational medical examinations, including entry, periodic, extraordinary and exit exams.

I enjoy spending my free time with my granddaughters. I’m also interested in new computer programs and I enjoy travelling and reading, not only rules, regulations and directives, but also cases involving labour law.

Behind everything, I always see the person, both their personal and professional story.
